Adolescents Karing About People (AKAP)
AKAP offers Westchester County high school students something truly valuable: the opportunity to discover what they're capable of by serving others. It's an experience that transforms the lives of those they help and their own.
AKAP gives students room to grow into their best selves through service that actually means something. Our members walk beside them as mentors, offering the guidance, training, and steady encouragement that turns willingness into real capability.
What grows along the way is bigger than any single project: empathy, leadership, and the unshakable belief that they have the power to shape the world around them.
AKAP is where compassion becomes a habit and service becomes who you are. Watching these students grow into leaders and seeing what they give back to their community is the honor at the heart of this work.
Youth Aging Out of Foster Care Program
Some of life's greatest challenges begin when support systems come to an end. Young adults transitioning out of the New York State foster care system who live in or attend school in Westchester County often face significant obstacles as they navigate the transition to independent living.
We believe every young adult deserves the support and encouragement needed to thrive. Together, we help transform a time of uncertainty into one of possibility and promise.
Our scholarship program invests in young adults aging out of foster care, helping them pursue higher education and build a foundation for lifelong success.
